LSU basketball coach Johnny Jones did not specify reasons behind the departure of three of his players on Tuesday.
Guards Anthony Hickey and Malik Morgan and forward Shane Hammink decided they won't return to the Tigers next season.
LSU spokesman Kent Lowe says they've been granted full releases.
In three years, Hickey has averaged 9.4 points and 3.3 rebounds in 96 games.
Morgan averaged 4.9 points and 3.0 rebounds in 52 games during two seasons. He was sidelined by a major knee injury last February.
In two years, Hammink netted 1.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in 47 games played in his two years at LSU.
Johnny Jones has a number of talented freshmen coming in for the 2014-2015 season and the presence of the newcomers may have influenced the three players to look for another school to end their college basketball careers.
