COLD CASE: Antonio Brockington murder

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Hinds County investigators are hoping you can help close the books on an unsolved murder. The victim's house was set on fire and within days, a body was found in a burned out vehicle. The victim was identified as Antonio Brockington.

Hinds County sheriff investigators and the Jackson Fire Department arson squad want to know if a deliberately set house fire may be linked to an unsolved murder in the county.

Brockington's house on Myrtlewood drive in southwest Jackson was torched back in January. Three days later, January 23, Antonio Brockington bullet riddled body was found inside a burned out vehicle on Springridge Road and McFarland Road in Raymond. He had been shot six times.

There are many unanswered questions and a killer is on the run. We spoke with Brockington's fiance, Megan Dennis, at his funeral February 1st. She urged the killer to come forward.

"If you have a conscious, if you have a conscious, if you can see that this man got family here that really loved him, if you have a conscious, if you've got God anywhere in you, just turn yourself in," said Dennis.

Four months have since passed and the case has gone cold.

We have learned from Jackson's chief arson investigator that a person was arrested for the deliberately setting Brockington's house on fire, but they tell us,  there is no solid evidence that individual had anything to do with his murder.
