AT&T Text-to-Donate Option Provides Additional Way to Support Relief

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., May 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T today announced $10,000 in funding to the Alabama Region of the American Red Cross to support tornado recovery efforts in the state. AT&T is also contributing $50,000 to the American Red Cross nationally to assist with recovery across the states that were impacted by recent storms.

Red Cross disaster workers will use the funds to provide food, shelter, emotional assistance and basic supplies to individuals and families affected by the recent storms.

"The people of Alabama are resilient, and we are proud to support their efforts to rebuild homes and businesses throughout our state," said Fred McCallum, president, AT&T Alabama.

In addition to funding from AT&T, people throughout the country can aid those impacted by the tornadoes. By texting REDCROSS to 90999, customers can donate $10 to the American Red Cross.  The fee will be applied to monthly bills.
