Traffic Alert: St. Vincent Ave. closed after tree falls onto road

SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

A portion of St. Vincent Avenue is closed after a large tree fell onto the road in the Cedar Grove neighborhood Tuesday morning.

Shreveport police say the tree came crashing down in the middle of the street around 7:30 a.m. in the 8700 block of St. Vincent Avenue.

Fortunately, no one was injured.

Right now, the tree is blocking traffic on Saint Vincent from 79th Street to 85th Street. Traffic is being diverted to Linwood Avenue. No word on when the road will be reopened.

We'll let you know as soon as crews clear the road.
