BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - The two-time defending Class 3A State fast pitch softball champion St. Patrick Lady Irish (27-3) took care of business Monday evening on the home field.
Head coach Tommy Castanedo received offense and relied on excellent pitching for a 9-1 win over Choctaw Central, completing a two-game sweep of the Lady Warriors.

East Central (22-6) went for the sweep of Pascagoula Friday night at Ingalls Field and completed their mission with a 6-1 win over the Panthers in the Class 5A South State baseball finals.
After Pascagoula grabbed a 1-0 lead over the Hornets with a run in the bottom of the third, the Hornets would plate 5 runs in the top of the fourth inning.
The Hornets advance to the Class 5A South State finals beginning Thursday night at 6:00 hosting West Jones in Hurley. The Mustangs beat Pearl River Central 2-0 Monday night for a two game sweep of the Blue Devils.
Oak Grove showed no mercy in pounding Gulfport 12-0 Monday night to advance to the Class 6A South State finals. The Warriors beat the Admirals 5-0 on Saturday at Oak Grove.
