Lafayette, LA (KPLC) -

Lafayette Police have issued warrants for the arrest of two suspects in connection with a May 10 shooting on South Sterling.

Derrick Peter Williams, 18, and Gene Celestine, 18, both of Lafayette, are wanted on charges of two counts of attempted second degree murder and two counts of principal to attempted second degree murder.

Authorities say that the victims in the shooting were visiting relatives in the area, when an altercation took place between the suspects and the victims. During the altercation, one of the suspects fired multiple shots from a handgun, striking one victim in the calf and another in the ankle.

The victims were treated at a local hospital. The suspects fled the area prior to officers' arrival.

Anyone with information on Peter or Celestine's whereabouts is asked to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
