MADISON, AL (WAFF) -

A Nolan by any other name is cause for a city council agenda item.

Monday night, the Madison City Council discussed amending a street back to its original name.

Nolan Boulevard somehow over time changed to Noland – with a D. Some residents want the name reverted back to Nolan.

Council members had their first reading of the proposed ordinance about removing the ‘D.' If approved, the city will replace street signs bearing the ‘Noland' name.

District 1 Council member Tim Holcombe said Monday the issue will go before the Planning Commission before returning to the council for a possible vote at a future meeting.
