LAKE CHARLES, LA (KPLC) -

A woman is in custody and a man is wanted in connection with a theft at Stine Home and Yard in Sulphur last month.

On Wednesday, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office announced they were looking for the couple.

Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said the couple allegedly stole a weed trimmer and chainsaw from the store. A short video of the duo entering the store was released to KPLC and was posted to our website and Facebook page.

It turned out the female suspect was already in the Calcasieu Correctional Center on unrelated charges.

According to records from the CCC, Kellie Renee Comeaux, of Lake Charles, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of drug possession with intent to distribute and a probation violation. Her bond was set at $5,000.

Myers said the 45-year-old Comeaux was re-arrested Thursday on a theft charge after the Sheriff's Office received numerous calls from people who identified Comeaux as the theft suspect.

"Her arrest (on the theft charge) was due to several tips called into the Sheriff's Office from people who recognized her from store surveillance video," Myers said on Monday. "When questioned by detectives, Comeaux confirmed she stole the power tools."

Comeaux's bond on the theft charge was set at $2,500.

Also on Monday, Myers said authorities have identified the man seen in the video footage.

Myers said the man is 51-year-old Roberto B. Suarez and the Sheriff's Office is asking the public for assistance in locating him.
