Three arrested on contraband charges at Parchman

PARCHMAN, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Three people face charges after being caught trying to bring contraband into Parchman.

Vincent McGee, 26, Oriente Taylor, 25, and 29-year-old Desmond Evans were taken into custody.

They are all charged with introduction of a controlled substance into a correctional facility, introduction of contraband into a correctional facility, two counts of conspiracy and felon with a firearm.

The men were arrested after a civilian called about someone trying to ram his car as he was leaving the prison.

All three have criminal records and were still under supervision when arrested.

Investigators are still trying to learn who was the intended recipient of the contraband.
