JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson Police are investigating two homicides that occurred early Friday morning, in separate incidents.

The first occurred on McTyere Avenue, near Mill Street. Police found 21-year-old Marquis Williams in a vehicle dead from a gunshot wound.

The other incident occurred on Harrison Avenue, near Booker Street. Officers discovered 19-year-old Okang Oko dead from a gunshot wound.

"That was my only child, my only baby. I don't care what the situation may be, nobody deserved to die like that. I think they left my son in the street," said his mother Chaundra Benson.

Instead of celebrating with family, Chaundra Benson's will be preparing to bury her only son.    His grandmother who helped raise him, is begging for the shooter to come forward.

The victim's grandmother Darlene Tillman says, "I'm begging and pleading in the name of Jesus would you please turn yourself in cause he died a senseless death, shot in the back of his head and once in the chest."

Okang Oko leaves behind a two year old son.

He is a 2011 graduate of Terry high school.

Most recently he was working at a car wash.

Police have no suspects or motive in either incident.

Anyone with any information on these shootings is asked to call the Jackson Police department at 601-960-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS.
