Rantankerous: It's an NFL ex-Draft-aganza

Rantankerous [ran-tank'uhr-us] (adjective) - A combination of rant [to speak in a wild or extravagant manner] and cantankerous [contentious, disagreeable]. The word is the only suitable description for the arguments between Brian "What We Learned" Tynes and George "Hot Reads" Jones.

(RNN) – This week, Rantankerous has gone all out for the NFL Draft.

In this draft-a-palooza edition, we're intensely divided on the selection of Johnny Manziel. One of us is convinced the Cleveland Browns, who took "Johnny Football" No. 22 overall, are poised for a title run while the other thinks it's the same old Browns doing their same old thing. If you follow Rantankerous, you already know who is on which side.

We like the move by the Minnesota Vikings sneaking back into the first round to nab Teddy Bridgewater, and we're confused by the moves of the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals.

Also in this ex-draft-aganza, Brian laments the devaluing of running backs (shocker) and George is confused over the Lions' decision to take a tight end in the top 10.

There's also some really good stories in the odd news department at the top of the recording, including Brian's Twitter account being suspended and his subsequent decision to keep up with the Kardashians.

Include your thoughts in the comments section, or email us directly using the links above. You can also troll us on Twitter at @GJones_RNN and the newly unsuspended @BNT_RNN.

A Jackson County jury has been seated. Opening arguments begin this morning in the capital murder trial of Scotty Street. Street is accused of stabbing Frankie Fairley to death in 2014 and stealing her van. Officers say Street drove that van to D'Iberville where he reportedly robbed a convenience store. Fairley's body was found in a field not far from her Hurley home. The discovery was one day after family reported her missing.

The Pascagoula Panthers open the 2017 football season on the road. In fact, their first three games are road contests. That scheduling quirk may give field turf crews just enough time to get War Memorial Stadium ready for the September 8 home opener. The wet weather in South Mississippi is placing quite the burden on construction workers as they attempt to complete stadium renovations. The project was suppose to be finished before the beginning of Pascagoula's football season.
