1 dead, 1 fighting for life after shooting near UAMC

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

One man has died and another is fighting for his life after being shot late Thursday night.

According to TPD, the shooting happened around 10:15 in the 1200 block of East Lee Street.

When officers arrived on the scene they found two adult males with gunshot wounds. One man has been identified as a  34-year-old man and was pronounced dead at the scene. The other is a 24-year-old man. He was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Their names have not been released.

"They're trying to figure out who saw or may have heard. Sometimes ear witnesses is as good as an eye witness," said TPD Sgt. Pete Dugan.  According to Tucson Police, officers are conducting door to door interviews with residents in the area.

"They have a lot of evidence to go through here at the scene. They have a lot of interviews to do. They're going to have to brief on everything that they've found and located and gathered and decide where they're going to take the investigation from there."

Still no ID on the victims or possible suspects.  The investigation is ongoing.
