America is the land of plenty for most of us. But for many, food is not plentiful. More than 50 million people go hungry every day in our country including 17 million children.
You and the postal carriers can do something about that this Saturday. The postal service will carry out its Stamp out Hunger campaign. We encourage you to participate if you can. The effort is minimal. All you have to do is leave a bag of non-perishable foods at your mailbox. When the mail carriers arrive Saturday, they will deliver the mail and pick up your food donations.
Since 1993, a billion pounds of food have been collected and delivered to food banks to feed the hungry. One in six Americans is unsure where their next meal is coming from. Let's all do our part to help put food on their tables and donate through your mail carrier this Saturday.
