One injured, one arrested after Pascagoula shooting

PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - A 63-year-old Pascagoula man is behind bars accused of shooting a 23-year-old man Monday night. The shooting happened just before 10pm near Market Street and Polk Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found Malik Mitchell on the ground with a gunshot wound to the leg. Archie Lee Williams Sr., who lives on Polk Avenue, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Tuesday morning, Williams was still being held at the Pascagoula Municipal Jail awaiting an initial appearance before Judge M. Fondren.
