Judge orders psychiatric help for man accused of assaulting officer

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Judge Patton has ordered psychiatric help for 50-year-old Calvin Wright, who is charged with assault on an officer.

The incident happened March 21, at the Waffle House on the I-55 Frontage Road and Northside Drive.

Employees had asked Wright to leave the restaurant.

A Jackson Police Officer intervened and Wright allegedly hit the officer on the head with a coffee pot.
