Police: Woman admits to fatally stabbing husband

Clifton Hardimon Clifton Hardimon
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police say a north Nashville woman has admitted to fatally stabbing her husband on Sunday night.

The woman allegedly told police that the stabbing happened as a result of an ongoing domestic dispute.

She called police just after 9 p.m. to report the stabbing and said she and her husband had been fighting.

Officials say 54-year-old Clifton Hardimon died inside a bedroom at their home on the 3000 block of Sunnyview Drive.

Hardimon had been arrested on March 23 on a charge of assaulting his wife but was free on a $4,000 bond, police say.

Metro Police says the investigation is ongoing and no charges are being filed against the woman at this time.
