Thousands raised during multiple sclerosis walk

FLOWOOD, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Research money for multiple sclerosis is on the rise.

Thousands of dollars were raised during Saturday's MS Walk at Winner's Circle Park in Flowood.

Participants walked either one, two or three miles.

All of the money will go towards MS research and helping MS patients live longer and healthier lives.

If you didn't make it out Saturday, you can still donate to the cause.

"There is actually like a 6 to 8 week period after the walk where they still ask people to get contributions for their team and to contribute to the MS Society. So you know we encourage people that might be seeing this now that even though the walk is taking place it's not too late to contribute.
There is a website its and people can go there check it out and donate money," said Steve DeSalvo, MS Walk Corporate Chairman and MS Braves.

Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and the spinal cord.
