My Turn: Donald Sterling

Posted: Updated:

Donald Sterling, billionaire owner of the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team, used racially offensive statements in an audio taped conversation with his thirty-one year old girl friend.

This set off a firestorm of protests from NBA players and many LA celebrities.

Adam Silver, the commissioner of the NBA, banned him for life and is forcing Sterling to sell the LA Clippers. Sterling's wife is suing the girlfriend for $1.8 million.

An eighty-one year old married man with a thirty-one year old girlfriend is getting what he deserves.  Although he will still have plenty of money, he has lost his dignity and that is priceless.
