Homeless Man Faces Several Sex Charges

A homeless man released from jail on bond earlier this year on a sexual battery charge is now facing additional charges.

Authorities say 36-year-old David Otto Pounds has been accused of molesting a ten-year-old boy in D'Iberville in December.

The latest charge comes after Pounds was released from jail on a $25,000 bond April 30th following his arrest on a sexual battery charge involving the boy's 13-year-old sister.

Biloxi Police Captain Rick Kirk says both alleged incidents happened after the children's family allowed Pounds to stay at their home because he was homeless.

Authorities say Pounds is an acquaintance of the alleged victims and similar charges against him are pending in Picayune. Police wouldn't release any more details on the charges.

Police took Pounds back to the county jail Friday, where he is being held on a $25,000 bond set by Justice Judge Bruce Strong.
