Teen Suspect To Be Charged In St. Martin Shooting

A biloxi teen-ager believed to be invovled in a weekend shooting in St. Martin is in police custody.

Jackson County Sheriff Mike Byrd says 17-year-old Francis Nguyen of Biloxi is behing held on drug charges in Biloxi.. Sheriff Byrd says Tuesday, the teen-ager will be charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling.

The shooting happened early Sunday morning at a home on Dismuke Avenue. No one was hit by the bullets.

Officials say the shooting was not a drive by, as earlier suspected. Nguyen allegedly got out of a car to shoot at the home, then rode off.

Sheriff Byrd says there were other people in the car. The extent of their involvement is still under investigation.

Officials say Nguyen may have been trying to shoot at Ricky Le's home on Dismuke, but possibly hit another home by mistake. Le is in jail in connection with another shooting.

Police say Le's home has been the sight of gang shootings at least five times since 2001.
