GRAND BAY, AL (WLOX) - The search for the Jackson County jail inmate who escaped a work detail on Monday is over. Sheriff Charles Britt said officials with the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force captured Jack Preston Sanders III, 24, and his escape accomplice Wednesday morning in Grand Bay, AL.

Britt said Sanders was on a work detail at the Jackson County Fairgrounds when he ran and jumped into a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Sheleena Ashley Forehand.  Sanders was in jail facing a burglary charge.

Britt said Sanders has been charged with escape, and Forehand has been charged with aiding in the escape. Both face up to five years in prison if found guilty.
