Miss. businesses and organizations team up to help in storm relief effort

PEARL, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Salvation Army in Jackson is collaborating with several organizations to take in donations for Pearl tornado victims. You can drop donations off at the Wal-Mart on Highway 80 until 6 tonight.

A stream of folks have already pitched in buying water, cleaning supplies, clothes and snacks.

"We just feel really grateful for being able to live in Mississippi and actually to be able to give back," said Angelle Griffith, who dropped off donations at the Wal-Mart in Pearl today. "We're very grateful we were not affected personally but did know a lot of people that were affected and just wanted to help out."

If you don't make it today donations will be accepted at Trustmark Park from May 1st through the 4th.

Everyone who donates will receive Mississippi Braves tickets for May 12th.
