Harrison County names a new AD & D'Iberville names Renee Ladner as girls coach

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Harrison County School District athletic director Mike Gavin is retiring after the school year and on Monday night the Harrison County School Board approved the hiring of Bobby Trosclair to replace Gavin for the 2014 school year.

Gavin said,"After 41 years in the coaching profession and in school administration I felt it was time for me to retire.  I'll be turning 65 in July and believe it's the right thing to do."

Trosclair has been serving as Harrison County School District Transportation Director and previously was the principal at St. Patrick High School.

In another order of business, the School Board approved the hiring of Renee Ladner to become the girls head basketball coach at D'Iberville High School.

Ladner got back into coaching this past season and was an assistant coach at Harrison Central High School under Red Rebelettes head coach Nancy Ladner.

Renee brings years of experience to D'Iberville having coached in the Harrison County School District, was head coach at St. John High School and guided the Lady Eagles to a Class 2A State Championship.

She later became an assistant basketball coach at the University of Florida and head basketball coach at Ole Miss.
