JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Jackson County authorities are on the hunt for an inmate that escaped from a work detail Monday morning.

According to the sheriff's department, Jack Sanders III was working at the Jackson County Fairgrounds when he ran away and jumped into a vehicle. He was being held on a burglary charge.

Authorities believe the driver of that vehicle was 25-year-old Sheleena Forehand.

Investigators said the couple has friends in the Tillman's Corner and Theodore communities in Alabama. They got away in a dark blue Toyota Solara with hot pink seat covers.

If you've seen this couple or their vehicle, you're asked to call the Jackson County Sheriff's Office at (228) 769-3063.
