Family of three killed in Picayune house fire

PICAYUNE, MS (WLOX) -

An early morning house fire in Picayune left a family of three dead on Saturday, according to Pearl River County Coroner Derek Turnage. Officials said fire crews were called to the blaze on the 700 block of Bennett Street shortly after 1 a.m.

Turnage said Edward Louis Parker, 65, Nancy Cooper, 29, and the couple's 6-month-old child, Jeremiah Parker Cooper, died of smoke inhalation.

Turnage said emergency crews are still working to determine what started the deadly fire.
