Driver of 18-wheeler escapes fire

HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Saturday morning an 18-wheeler caught fire as it traveled along I-20 near Bolton.

According to MHP Public Affairs Officer Trooper Eric Henry, the incident occurred around 1130 a.m. when a 2012 International Semi was traveling eastbound on I-20. 

The driver stated his truck began to lose power and heavy smoke began to come from under the hood.

The driver Derell Woods, 49, pulled the vehicle over as quick as he could and exited the truck and noticed it was fully engulfed.

Woods, who was not injured, drove for Tango Transport out of Shreveport, LA.
