It is one of the busiest weekends of the year in Nashville and one of the most lucrative. It's marathon weekend, and even if you're not running you'll feel the impact.
About 30,000 people are running either the half or full St. Jude Country Music Marathon, and an estimated 100,000 fans will line the streets of Nashville to cheer them on.
Race organizers say 2,000 volunteers will be spread out along the course for race support, and more than 200 medical personnel will be on hand in case someone needs aid.
It all amounts to millions of dollars injected into the local economy with the goal of showcasing the best of Music City for visitors from around the world.
"It's about bringing positive attention to Nashville and our brand as Music City. It's about filling our hotel rooms and having thousands of runners carbo-loading at restaurants all over Nashville the night before," said Nashville Mayor Karl Dean.
