JACKSON, MS (WLOX) - A South Mississippi educator received a great honor Wednesday afternoon. Gulfport High School Principal Michael Lindsey has been named Mississippi Administrator of the Year by the Mississippi Department of Education.
Every year, each school district across the state selects one outstanding administrator to send to Jackson for the annual luncheon. Lindsey was selected as the state's top administrator after a rigorous selection process narrowed the competition down to just four congressional district finalists.
Lindsey will receive a $5,000 stipend for his accomplishments.
