LONG BEACH, MS (WLOX) -

If you've driven by the Long Beach Harbor you've probably noticed the partial, new concrete structure sitting where the Long Beach Lookout Restaurant used to be. Blue Ridge Properties is building a new restaurant on that site.

The builder has a lease agreement with local restaurateur John Bull. Both will go before the Port Commission with the lease agreement Tuesday night.

If you think that partial structure has been sitting there for a while, you would be correct. Apparently the builder stopped construction for the city to put in a bulk head and boardwalk. Then he had to change the elevation to get a more affordable flood insurance rate.

By the way, the new restaurant's name will pay tribute to an iconic coast restaurant from the past. It will be called the Sea and Sirloin, which references the old Sea N Sirloin restaurant that once stood on the beach in Biloxi. John Bull told WLOX News he got permission from the original owner to use the name.
