KCK residents in fear after drive-by shooting injures 4

KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

Four people were shot on Monday night in Kansas City, KS.

The drive-by shooting was reported about 8:45 p.m. near 11th Street and Kansas Avenue.

Two people sitting in a car and two sitting on their front porch were hit by gunfire.

Kansas City police said the four are expected to be OK.

Police have not released any details about a suspect. Relatives said one man was shot in the face.

Some residents in the neighborhood spoke of their fears about crime in the area with several declining to speak publicly for fear of retribution.

Some suggest being friendly and getting to know your neighbor while others advise keeping to yourself in case you rub the wrong person the wrong way.

Ronnie Hill grew up in KCK and he was amazed by the violence seen Monday night.

"It's crazy," he said.

But he said he doesn't feel unsafe.

"It doesn't take nothing away from the safety because I grew up here," he said. "I love my city."
