JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Work to resurface a section of Highway 57 in Jackson County is underway this week. MDOT Southern Transportation Commissioner Tom King said the project involves three miles of roadway along Highway 57 from Highway 90 to Interstate 10 in Jackson County.

Crews are removing vegetation from the shoulders to prep the area for paving. Drivers should expect intermittent daytime lane closures while paving crews complete the work. Construction should be complete by June.

The $1.69 million project was awarded to Mallette Brothers Construction, Inc.
