JULIA'S FORECAST: Warm with sun & clouds, spotty showers possible

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Good morning!

After a gorgeous holiday weekend, we're hoping the calm and quiet weather will continue. And for the most part, it will! Expect sun and clouds with highs near 80 today. A few spotty showers are possible though in the Delta, and areas farther north.

A cold front approaches tonight, and it will ignite a few showers and even some t-storms. It doesn't look like severe weather will be an issue, but don't be surprised if you hear rumbles of thunder in the wee Tuesday morning hours.

Activity will remain spotty to scattered through the day on Tuesday, but we're still rather warm in the upper 70s to near 80. High pressure builds back in through the middle of the work week, calming our weather back down.
