(WMC) - Memphis police officer Meekose Evans, who is accused of sexual battery, went before a judge on Monday morning.

According to an affidavit of complaint, Evans pulled a woman over on February 11 and told her that her tag lights were out. The woman says she told Evans that her driver's license was expired and she only had an ID card. She said Evans then instructed her to follow him to another area.

In the affidavit, she said officer Evans made her walk to his car and take a seat with her legs hanging outside the vehicle. She said Evans asked her, "What are you going to do for me?" and then asked to see her breast. She pulled her shirt up, and he began to caress her. She said he then let her leave.

Six days later, the woman contacted MPD to report the incident.

The woman was shown a photo lineup of police officers, and according to the affidavit, she identified Evans as the officer who pulled her over.

Evans is currently out on a $10,000 bond. He faced a judge via video arraignment at 9 a.m. on Monday and pleaded not guilty to the sexual battery charge.

Evans has been employed with MPD since January 2011. He is still employed by MPD but is not working patrols until an administrative hearing is held. He was also denied the right to carry a firearm pending the investigation.

He is due back in court with an attorney on May 5.
