Toledo Police say a Toledo man has been charged with murder after he assaulted another man over the weekend.

Jerome Devone Carter, 26, was charged with the murder of Jeff Miller-Lee on Tuesday. Police say Miller-Lee died just after 1 p.m. Tuesday, leading to the murder charge against Carter.

Police say Carter and another man assaulted Miller-Lee by punch and kicking him in the head and body before lifting him off the ground and dropping him on a sidewalk.  It all happened just before 11 p.m. on Saturday in the 400 block of Cumberland Place, according to TPD.

Carter had faced felonious assault and driving without a license charges before the murder charges were added Tuesday. Court documents show Carter is also wanted for aggravated robbery by Bowling Green Police.
