DIAMONDHEAD, MS (WLOX) - The man who robbed the Hancock Bank in Diamondhead Thursday afternoon may be on a cross-country crime spree.
Investigators released three surveillance pictures from inside the bank showing a man wearing a cowboy hat at the teller's desk. Hancock County Lead Investigator Glenn Grannan told WLOX News the man handed the teller a note saying "This is an armed robbery." The note instructed the teller to give him the cash in the drawer, which only totaled about $250.
Grannan said this same man may have robbed three other banks in Illinois and Indiana in recent days. All those banks were located close to the interstate, just like in Diamondhead.
The search is still on for the robber. In fact, investigators throughout the tri-state area of Louisiana/Mississippi/Alabama are on the lookout for him.
