UPDATE: Hwy 67 accident victim identified as Saucier man

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

A 63-year-old Saucier man was killed in an early morning accident in Harrison County. It happened around 6am in the southbound lanes of Highway 67 at Tradition Parkway.

Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove identified the victim as Arthur Barnes, Jr. He said the victim's SUV was struck from behind by another vehicle. The SUV flipped several times, and Barnes was not wearing a seatbelt.

Hargrove said Barnes's wife said he had a lawn maintenance business and was on his way to work when the accident occurred.

There's no word yet on the condition of the other driver, or whether any charges have been filed. The Highway Patrol is investigating.

Just about a month ago, two people died and a third person was hospitalized after an accident at this same intersection.
