New Orleans, LA - (WVUE)  Rick Springfield, the 80's heartthrob made a stop in New Orleans Wednesday afternoon to sign autographs and take pictures as part of the build-up to the release of his latest book.

This time Springfield took on a fiction novel. Springfield said, "I always wanted to write fiction. That's what I started writing as a kid was fiction and then it went into songwriting. But, I've always had it in my mind to continue writing."

"Magnificent Vibrations" will be released May 6th.

Springfield, 64, is best known for his roll on the soap opera "General Hospital" and his number one hit "Jessie's Girl".
