One of South Mississippi's gems is coming to life again. Point Cadet in Biloxi was the site of many festivals, farmers markets and fundraisers. But almost nine years ago Hurricane Katrina destroyed the point. Now Point Cadet is about to become a community and tourism draw again.
The new four and a half million dollar waterfront park will officially open in May. Although one benefit concert has already taken place.
The new Point Cadet will have a huge pavilion, playground, splash pad and restrooms. And just across the street another post Katrina recovery project. The $9 million Seafood Museum is about to open as well.
We are happy to see this part of Biloxi that was so vital to coast tourism returning to the helm of all the wonderful places South Mississippi has to offer its residents and tourists.
