ENTERPRISE, AL (WSFA) -

The Enterprise City Schools Board of Education voted Tuesday night to close Enterprise Junior High School for next school year.

According to Superintendent Camille Wright, all 8th grade students will attend Dauphin Junior High School for the 2014-2015 school year.

Wright said no rezoning will be required and no change will be made to the configuration of Coppinville Junior High.

"As always, the Enterprise City Schools system strives to do the best for our students, faculty and staff while maintaining fiscal responsibility to the taxpayers," Wright said in a statement. "We want to ensure our students are taught in a 21st century learning environment at all levels and are being prepared for a global environment."
