Gulfport's Donny Fuller looking forward to Hall of Fame Induction

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Donny Fuller loves coaching. It's what drives him to get up each morning and head to Gulfport High School.

After five years as the Lady Admirals head basketball coach, Fuller has rung 85 victories and 59 losses and one District title.

Before his move to Gulfport, Fuller was head coach at Warren Central High School in Vicksburg where he captured two state titles and seven district championships.

His greatest honor will come in June, when he's elected into the Mississippi Association of Coaches Hall of Fame.

He said,"I think that's the greatest honor any coach in Mississippi can achieve. It's voted on by your peers and that makes it even more exciting for me."

Fuller's overall record is 462-261 with 377 of those wins and 202 losses achieved at Warren Central.

"Warren Central was a unique situation for me because I was actually there twice," stated Fuller. "I was there first as a ninth grade coach and assistant coach and went back as the head coach and it was my home, that's where I graduated from and I was blessed to have some pretty good players while I was there."

Fuller says he doesn't believe total success is based on wins and losses.

"I tell people my greatest achievement is when I go out and see former players and they're out in society and they're working and have jobs and contributing back to the community, that's my greatest achievement." stated Fuller.

He'll be inducted into the Mississippi Association of Coaches Hall of Fame on June 27 in Jackson.
