High Speed Chase Ends In Diamondhead Front Yard

A high speed police chase ended in Hancock County early Tuesday morning.

Slidell police tell us the chase started when an officer tried to pull over 27-year-old Shelby Whittle of Pearl River, Louisiana for a traffic violation. Turns out, Whittle had reportedly kidnapped a Slidell daiquiri shop employee during an apparent armed robbery.

The chase ended in this front yard at Diamondhead Drive East and Apaki Place in Diamondhead. Hancock county deputies say the man jumped out of his car and ran. A K-9 took the guy down.

The woman who was kidnapped has a serious head wound. She is being treated at Northshore Medical Center in Slidell.
