Coach Jay Ladner leading candidate at Southeastern Louisiana

Former St. Stanislaus head basketball coach Jay Ladner, who guided Jones County Junior College to the 2014 National Junior College Championship, is a leading candidate for the head coaching job at Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond.

In two years at Jones, Ladner piled up 45 victories and 13 losses, 28 and 5 this past season.

His career coaching record is an impressive 539 victories and 194 losses with stops at St. Stanislaus High School, Oak Grove High School and Jones County Junior College and guided the Rockachaws to the 2011 Class 4A State Championship.

He coached St. Stanislaus from 1991 through the 2011 season.

Ladner met with Southeastern Louisiana athletic director Jay Artigues today and toured the facilities Sunday night.

He along with other candidates will begin the interviewing process next week in Hammond.
