STONE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - The Stone County Sheriff's Department hit pay-dirt Wednesday afternoon when deputies arrested four men and seized large amounts of marijuana, cocaine and crack cocaine.
According to Captain Jimmy Green, with the Stone/Wiggins Narcotics Taskforce, deputies observed four men in the yard of another man who had misdemeanor warrants out for his arrest. Green said when police approached the group one of the men, identified as D'anthony Willison, 26, took off running.
Green said Willison was apprehended after a short pursuit and was found to be in possession of 64 grams of marijuana. Authorities said a car at the residence containing several pounds of marijuana and one ounce of cocaine belonged to Kendrick Breland.
Willison, Breland, 31-year-old Curtis Myers and 33-year-old Michael Johnson were all arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
Green said Breland was also charged with stealing a four wheeler from Harrison County. A stolen 9mm handgun was also found in the area.
Green said deputies confiscated a total of five and a half pounds of marijuana, 130 grams of powder cocaine, 34 grams of crack cocaine and $1,189.
