SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -
Police busted a drug dealer after she made a sale while detectives were conducting an undercover surveillance operation at the Main Street bus station.
Springfield police began watching the bus station, located at 1776 Main St., after they received complaints that a drug dealer set up shop in front of the building, Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney said.
Detectives witnessed a female drug dealer sell clonazepam, a muscle relaxer, to two out-of-town males looking for drugs. Detectives then swarmed the area and arrested the two men after they had purchased 36 pills between the two of them from the female dealer, Delaney said.
Officers were able arrest the woman without incident inside the bus terminal.
"Detectives will continue to monitor the bus station on Main Street for further illegal activity," Delaney said. "The bus terminal is and will continue to be a safe haven for travelers in and out of the city of Springfield."
Sandra Soto, 40, of 2 Volpe Dr. Chicopee, was charged with distribution of a class C substance, possession of a class C substance with intent to distribute, and violating a drug-free park zone (Picknelly Park), according to an arrest report.
Police also charged Curtis Centracchio, 29, of 985 Hampden St., Holyoke, and Jonathon Hamborg, 32, of 171 Morton Street, West Springfield with possession of a class C substance.
All defendants were arraigned in Springfield District Court Wednesday.
