SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - The deadline to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act is March 31, and several advocacy groups are now working together to help Mississippians enroll.
Cover Mississippi Coalition says so far 30,000 Mississippians have purchased health insurance plans. Their goal is to provide direct assistance to the thousands of Mississippians seeking insurance options.
A national director with DHS said while the enrollment numbers are increasing, there's still room for more.
"The good thing about the marketplace is we won't run out of the product. So we really want every Mississippian who is uninsured to take advantage to the open enrollment. It closes on March 31st and there are a variety of ways to enroll," explained Dr. Pamela Roshell.

If you haven't signed up yet, you may have more time. The White House is giving some folks in the process of applying for health care under the Affordable Care Act, a reprieve.
