Deputies: WV woman dies at Upstate hotel, SC man arrested

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit said they have charged a man with murder after a West Virginia woman's body was found in a hotel room Sunday.

Deputies said they found the woman's body at the InTown Suites on Mauldin Road after receiving a 911 call just before 9 a.m.

Deputies said their investigation showed that Richard Davis, 57, got into a fight with the victim inside his hotel room. Deputies said Davis and the victim knew each other.

Greenville County Coroner Parks Evans identified the woman as 50-year-old Donna Sue Roberts, of Huntington, WV.

Evans classified Roberts death as a homicide and said she had multiple blunt force injuries, but her cause of death is still pending.

Davis was denied bond on Sunday night. He is being held in the Greenville County Detention Center, Pinciaro said.
