Man allegedly runs from Decatur police after being cuffed

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

Decatur Police placed a man in cuffs over theweekend, only to have him run off and begin a brief foot chase.

35-year-old Centell Andre Winston was beingarrested on charges of public intoxication, open container, and tampering withphysical evidence.

After being placed in cuffs, Winston was ledto the patrol car and ran as the officer opened the back passenger door. Ashort foot chase ensued and Centell was taken back into custody.

While being booked at the city jail, officerslocated marijuana on Centell. He was charged with third-degree escape and second-degreepossession of marijuana in addition to his initial charges.
