Two Selma teenagers charged in attempted robbery case

The Selma Police Department has arrested two teenagers forattempted robbery.

According to police, a 15-year-old Selma High School studentreported that 17-year-old Edward Marshall and 17-year-old Kahmaul Jones, bothSelma High School students also, attempted to rob him. The victims said thatthe suspects held a gun to his head and demanded money. The robbery occurred at8 a.m. on March 8 at the 200 block of McDonald Avenue.

According to the victim, the suspects picked him up in a vehiclewhere Jones was driving and Marshall was sitting in the backseat. The suspectsand victim were suppose to go purchase new sneakers but when the victim enteredthe vehicle, Jones drove the vehicle to McDonald Avenue where Marshall pulledout a gun and demanded money. The victim was able to leap from the movingvehicle, as the suspects engaged in the robbery, and sustained injuries. Thevictim was able to get help from a resident in the surrounding area.

Selma Police Detectives picked the two suspects on Monday at 1p.m. Detectives picked Marshall up from school and Jones up from his place ofresidence. The suspects were transported to the Selma Police Department wherethey were questioned by authorities. The two suspects were charged as adults bythe DA office.

The two suspects were transported to the Dallas County Jail wherethey were charged with first degree robbery and are being held on a bond of$60,000 each.
