Minivan crash knocks out power to hundreds in South Richmond

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) -

Nearly 300 Dominion customers are without power following an accident in South Richmond.

Police tell us a around 9 a.m. Sunday a minivan crashed into a power pole on 300 block of West Roanoke Street. We do know the driver was taken to VCU Medical Center, but his injuries are considered non-life threatening.

Meanwhile neighbors nearby are still waiting for their electricity to be restored. That road remains closed at this hour while crews continue to make repairs. According to the Dominion website that power should be restored between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sunday.
