BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A second man has been arrested in connection with a shooting of a 14-year-old.

Deputies say 20-year-old Tyrin Keith Perkins and 19-year-old Elijah Ross are accused of planning a robbery with the 14-year-old in February on St. Croix Dr.

According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office, the incident happened on Thursday, Feb. 20 at roughly 7:30 p.m. It happened in the 1900 block of St. Croix Drive, which is located in a subdivision off of Nicholson Drive.

The group allegedly planned a drug deal with a man, but once they all met up, the three tried to get away without paying. The man they allegedly robbed is accused of grabbing Ross' gun and shooting the teen in the back as he ran. Ross stayed with the victim and was arrested at the scene.

Ross was charged with illegal carrying of a weapon and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Both are felony charges. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and was released on a $1,500 bond. He was arrested again Wednesday night on a charge of armed robbery. His bond has been set at $40,000.

Perkins was arrested late Wednesday night and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and armed robbery, both felonies. A bond has not been set.

Police are still looking for the gunman.

If you know anything about this case, you are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867 (STOP).
